What does EPA mean?
EPA means Electrostatic Protected Area, a delimited area for handling sensitive components.
Why set-up an EPA?
An EPA is necessary to guarantee a high level of protection of sensitive electronic components from electrostatic charges. It avoids their generation and favours their dissipation aswell.
One of the strengths of our workbenches is modularity. They have been studied and designed in order to adapt to the needs of every client, thanks to a wide array of accessories in order to perfect your own configuration.
In this particular setup, the area is composed of two KE MEDIUM ESD, chosen by the client for its standard accessories: the power module and the adjustable shelf. The first is composed of a 6-schuko multisocket with a magnetothermic switch and powers all necessary tools, a safe and comfortable solution. The second accessory is the height adjustable shelf, it allows to have your own tools within hand’s reach and an ideal height for its user. Their structure has been coated with a layer of static dissipative epoxy powders that allows to correctly ground electrostatic discharges.
